Fans are still buzzing after Detroit whipped the Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 9-8 at Briggs Stadium.

Ted Kluszewski smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 3 RBIs and scored 3 times.

At the postgame press conference, Kluszewski said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game.

"Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Kluszewski said. "Three is just... wow."

Ted Kluszewski flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Humberto Robinson in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Humberto Robinson in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Ridzik in the 9th.

Batting .331 to date, Kluszewski has 34 home runs and 112 RBIs.
