Chicago Deals Stone to Boston for Hatfield Sunday, October 10th , 1954 The Chicago Cubs have finalized a deal with the Boston Red Sox for the services of 29-year old 2B Fred Hatfield. In exchange, the Red Sox will receive 30-year old LHP Jim Davis, 24-year old LF Bob Speake, and 24-year old LHP Dean Stone. Since joining the league, Stone has compiled an ERA of 6.27 with a career record of 16-27. He has 168 strikeouts in 321.1 innings and has held opponents to a .302 batting average. |
