Deal: Ennis for Grissom Friday, October 8th , 1954 Philadelphia and New York announced some roster changes today as the Phillies acquired 36-year old RHP Marv Grissom and 22-year old 1B Gail Harris from the Giants in exchange for 29-year old LF Del Ennis. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal. In 1353 career games, Ennis has put up a .299 average, collected 263 doubles, 55 triples, and 185 home runs, driven in 866 runs, and scored 749 times. In his 216-game career Grissom has put up a 3.64 ERA and fanned 272 hitters in 542 innings. His career record stands at 37-29 with 30 saves. |
