NL Honors Pittsburgh Catcher Monday, September 6th , 1954 Josh Gibson showed his stuff this past week as the veteran rode a hot streak all the way to NL Player of the Week honors. The 42-year-old Pirates catcher compiled a .412 average (7-for-17), 2 home runs and 10 RBIs. So far in 1954 Gibson is batting .267 with 25 home runs, 84 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 345 at-bats and a .323 OBP. |
