Washington Senators Mathematically Out of Playoffs
Monday, August 30th , 1954
Fans of the Washington Senators have long since given up hope of the club making a serious playoff push this season. But now those hopes are officially gone, as the club was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today.
The Senators have missed the playoffs 48 times in their 54 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 26th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1928. Washington last won the World Series in 1926.
